About Amy

Business Experience

Amy has over a decade of experience working with nonprofits, and another decade of experience with small, locally owned businesses.

Amy currently operates a hardwood flooring business with her husband Jamie. She is proud of their role in restoring our area's historic structures. They are also in the process of developing a second business, renovating homes for people with disabilities and other accessibility issues.

Amy spent eight years at the Florence Crittenden Agency, working with teen girls who were in crisis as a result of abuse, unplanned pregnancy, or drug and alcohol addiction.

When Amy first came to Knoxville over 20 years ago, her first job was as Director of Youth at a local church.

As a young woman, Amy spent 5 summers working at a summer camp on Lookout Mountain, Georgia. She started out as a Counselor-In-Training and worked her way up to Director of the First and Second Grade Camps. It was here that Amy's interests in outdoor sports, the environment, and conservation and stewardship really took off.

As a teenager, Amy's first job was as a dishwasher at her church! She washed the dishes every Wednesday night after the church's community supper. She was paid $5.00 per week.
