About Amy

Service to Voters

Voter registration and education are a priority for Amy. She supports the Knox County Administrator of Election's "Anywhere Voting" initiative, and is proud of our Election Commission for securing a grant to explore this option for Knox County's voters.

During 2004, Amy organized a voter registration drive that resulted in over 10,000 registrations in east Tennessee; she personally trained over 100 poll watchers for Election Day and coordinated transportation for over 200 voters.

Amy was a tireless worker on the past several Presidential campaigns, assembling signs, phone banking, canvassing, and transporting voters. She has also worked on over a dozen local campaigns.

During the Clinton administration Amy took several trips to Washington, DC, to lobby Congressman Duncan and Senators Thompson and Alexander on issues relating to the environment, children, and women.

Amy has worked as an Officer of Elections since 2004. She always receives high marks from the voters and the other election workers in the Precincts she works. In the last election, Amy's precinct was recognized as a "Perfect Precinct."

For the past three years, Amy has organized the Summer Picnic for the Knox County Democratic Party. She was on the planning committee for "A Salute to Public Service" in 2005, and worked on the East Tennessee Truman Day Dinner in 2006 and 2007.

Amy has twice been elected by the Second District Democrats to represent them on the Knox County Democratic Party Board of Governors.
